Walk in the Bard's footstepsTo commemorate the 450th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s birth in 2014, the UK walking holiday operator Celtic Trails (01291 689774; celtic-trails.com) is to introduce, next year, a self-guided walking trail in the footsteps of the Bard. Known as Shakespeare’s Way, it stretches from his home town of Stratford-upon-Avon to Shakespeare’s Globe on London’s Bankside, where walkers can watch a performance of one of his plays. Walkers will travel between eight and 14 miles per day along footpaths, bridleways and tow paths, as well as some minor roads.
