Sabre has signed a new, multi-year technology agreement with
Transaero Airlines, Russia’s second-largest carrier, to retail its fares
and ancillaries in the Sabre global distribution system. The largest of
its kind, Sabre’s travel marketplace connects buyers and sellers of all
kind of travel.
The deal means more than 370,000 travel agents connected to Sabre in
more than 130 countries will continue to have access to the airline’s
fares, schedules, inventory and soon its ancillary products.
Hamish Broom, Sabre’s director of supplier commerce in EMEA, said:
“This deal is great news for travel agents because Transaero is one of
the region’s fastest growing carriers flying to a number of key business
and leisure travel destinations.
“Sabre has made significant investments in new technology to evolve
our global marketplace for suppliers to maximize retailing
opportunities. Combining more sales and revenue opportunities for
suppliers with more choices for consumers and the travel agents who
serve them is beneficial for everyone in the chain.”
Roman Vdovenko, deputy head of commercial department for Transaero
Airlines, said: “The signing of a new agreement between Transaero
Airlines and Sabre is a significant step in our long-term cooperation.
Sabre’s top-notch technology is easy to work with and Sabre’s travel
